This modern house sits right on the lake, so the clients asked us to design a landscape that framed certain views while complementing the dramatic, clean lines. Working in phases, we timed our installation to first complete the driveway, guest house, and entry sequence. The paving pattern of the driveway is contrasted with Mexican beach pebbles, which connects the guest house to the main house through retained steps and planters. The hardwood boardwalk serves the front door and garage entry, leading to the backyard. Custom steel screens and clumping bamboo give privacy from vehicle passers-by. A second phase in the backyard allowed us to install turf-grass landings that will frame the upcoming pool installation.
