mcgrew residence
december 2016
tile: Clay Imports
concrete: Abel Rodriguez
This small courtyard in the Mueller development was uninviting as grass and sloping walkway; we designed a pattern of concrete pavers for dining and lounging areas for this family, allowing for strategic planting in the negative spaces. As a bonus, the pavers can double as a chalk canvas for their young children. We leveled the sloped walkway and proposed bold geometric tiles as an accent to the space. The custom grill countertop has a durable concrete countertop that flanks a credenza of vertical planter boxes of vegetables, herbs and succulents.
