main stay house

november 2015

The landscape architecture on this spec house required a celebration of the many unique access points connecting the inside and out. We designed a paving pattern to give gracious entry to the front door tucked just out of sight, surrounded by grids of yuccas, grasses, and ground covers, mulched by Texas basalt gravel. The patio flanking the pool in the backyard opens up into the kitchen and living room.  The large tree serves as an anchor to a shaded gravel patio just past the pool. At the back gate, a steel-edged lawn edged by planting beds allow for un-programmed play areas surrounded by plants to soften the fence.
